Only Show the first slot of each day as available

In Cal ID, the Only show the first slot of each day as available feature is a powerful tool for controlling your schedule and maximizing your daily productivity. This setting ensures that your availability is limited to just one appointment per day, specifically the earliest time slot you have open.

Managing Daily Availability Limits

This setting is found under the Limits tab and is used to prevent your calendar from being overwhelmed with multiple back-to-back bookings on the same day.

Why use this feature?

  • Prioritize Deep Work: By limiting your availability to only the first open slot, you protect the rest of your day for focused tasks and long-term projects.
  • Control Daily Load: It ensures you never have more than one meeting of this specific event type per day, which is ideal for intensive consultations or high-energy workshops.
  • Maintain Consistency: If you prefer to handle all your external meetings at the start of your day, this setting automates that preference.

How to set it up

  1. Log **in to Cal ID
  2. Go to Event Types: Select the event you wish to modify from the left sidebar.
  3. Navigate to Limits: Click on the Limits tab in the top navigation bar of the "Edit event" screen.
  4. Toggle the Setting: Locate the section titled Only show the first slot of each day as available.
  5. Enable: Switch the toggle to ON.
  6. Save: Click the blue Save button at the top right of the page.

How it Works for the Booker

  • Earliest Option Only: When a guest views your booking page, they will only see the very first available time slot you have defined for each day.
  • Dynamic Hiding: Once that first slot is booked for a specific day, all other slots for that day will automatically be hidden from future bookers.
  • Schedule Restriction: This effectively restricts your availability to a single appointment per day, scheduled at your earliest available time.

Important Consideration

This feature is an "all-or-nothing" limit for the day. If you want to allow more than one booking but still limit the total count, you should use the Limit booking frequency setting located just above this toggle.
